Questions

Is WebP better than JPG?+

For websites, usually yes: similar quality at a smaller size. JPG is still the safest choice for sharing and printing.

What quality should I use?+

Around 80% is a good balance for web photos. The default is 90%, which favors quality over size.

Why is my WebP not smaller than the JPG?+

The JPG was probably compressed already. Lower the quality to around 80%, and the WebP should come out smaller.

Are my photos uploaded?+

No. The photo is converted in your browser, and the photo never leaves your device.
