Questions
Why does my computer show a different size?+
Windows counts 1,024 bytes as a KB, so a 99,000-byte file shows as about 97 KB there. The limit here is 100,000 bytes, so the file fits either way.
Why is my photo 98 KB and not exactly 100?+
It picks the highest quality that fits, so it usually lands a little under 100 KB. It never goes over 100,000 bytes.
Can I get a phone photo under 100 KB without shrinking it?+
Rarely. At 70% quality or higher a full phone photo is far bigger than 100 KB. If you turn Shrink if needed off, the quality drops instead and the photo can look blocky.
Are my photos uploaded?+
No. The photo is compressed to 100 KB in your browser and never leaves your device.
